Waterworks Safety Measures

Waterworks' mission has always been to educate and motivate individuals to be safer and learn proper swimming technique.

In collaboration with public health officials, the United States Swim School Association, and facility operators, Waterworks has created a safe facility use plan that is compliant with public health directives.

Please take a moment to review the steps we are taking below.

Safety Measures for our Customers and Employees:

  • Face coverings are required to be worn by all families (including children 2 years & older) at all times. Details of the California order can be found here. NOTE: Our Colorado location requires face coverings for children ages 10 and older.
  • Swim Instructors are required to wear a facemask at all times when teaching their lessons. NOTE: MAny of our Instructors are participating in the vaccination program.
  • All customers and employees will be responsible for taking their own temperature using our mounted, touch-free forehead thermometer. Temperatures in excess of 100.0 degrees will be refused entry. Note: Our touch-free temperature check methods may vary by location.
  • Our indoor facilities have state-of-the-art ventilation systems and 24 to 26-foot-high ceilings, which allows us to exchange the air at a very quick rate. Our ventilation rates are up to 8 times more than an office space and up to 4 times more than an elementary classroom.
  • If you are sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and get well.
  • If you have been exposed to COVID-19, please abide by the CDC recommended 14-day quarantine.
  • All employees have been told not to come to work if they are sick.
  • Any employee that comes to work feeling sick and/or shows COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home immediately.
  • All desks and individual workstations are separated by at least six feet of distance.
  • Sneeze guards may be placed at the front desk as an added barrier.
  • Ongoing training will be conducted to ensure all team members are taking preventive steps to ensure the health and safety of themselves and the families we serve.

Social Distancing Measures:

  • Only one parent/guardian per swimmer in the facility.
  • Everyone will need to maintain at least 6 feet distance from each other with the exception of family members who share the same household.
  • Students are encouraged to arrive and leave the swim facility wearing their swimsuit.
  • Swim lessons will be spaced out (6 feet or more) in the pool.
  • Wall dividers are in place to separate two students from different households during their semi-private lessons. The instructor can give direction to both students with the safety of the barrier.
  • Swim play areas will be closed until further notice.
  • There will be a limited number of customers in our facilities and swimming pools.
  • All viewing areas will have strategic distanced seating.
  • Parents will be asked to escort their swimmer(s) to their swim instructor.
  • We ask you to refrain from using the changing rooms and showers. Restrooms will be available for use, but we ask to maintain social distancing upon entering and exiting the restrooms.
  • We encourage all families to limit the time they are in our facilities to the extent of their swim lesson. Please refrain from loitering. This will help us maintain a lower number of people in our facilities at one time.

Sanitation Efforts:

  • Disinfecting all surfaces multiple times per day with an EPA approved cleaning agent. These areas include (not limited to):  workstations, countertops, door handles, and chairs.
  • Hand sanitizer will be placed at various locations throughout our facilities.
  • Professional deep cleaning will be performed on a nightly basis.
  • All shared items (e.g. toys, tables, etc.) have been removed.
  • Soap and water are available to all customers and employees.
  • Disinfectant and related supplies are available to all employees.
  • Bathrooms, staff break rooms, and other common areas will be disinfected frequently.

Chlorine Clean Pools:

NOTE: There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools. Visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/parks-rec/aquatic-venues.html

  • Continue to maintain well-balanced, chlorinated pools per the CDC and local health department requirements.
  • UV light systems in place to kill microorganisms in pool water including cryptosporidium (parasite that comes from fecal matter) at select locations.

Signage:
The following signage has been posted at our facilities in addition to any signage required by our local counties and/or the State.
