Instructors

Adriana

Adriana has been swimming since she was 3 years old and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the freestyle. She has 10 years of childcare experience as an elementary school volunteer for students on the spectrum and as a babysitter. Some of her hobbies include ice skating and ballet. She is excited to teach her students an important lifesaving skill.

Aisha

Aisha has been swimming since she was 6 years old and swam for several youth swim clubs. She continued swimming competitively on her high school's swim team for all 4 years and was the captain of the swim team. She has childcare experience as a program coordinator for a summer camp. She goes to school at UC Irvine where she is studying Chicano studies. Some of her hobbies include reading and crocheting. She is excited to see her students improve their swim skills.

AJ

AJ has been swimming since he was 2 years old and began swimming competitively at 12 years old. He played water polo in high school and continues to swim for a club polo team as well as an elite international water polo athlete. He has experience in the water as a lifeguard for 2 years and as a youth swim team coach for 2 years. Additionally, he has childcare experience as a volunteer for a bible school. He goes to school at Orange Coast College where he is studying psychology. Some of his hobbies include playing sports and collecting cards. He has a passion for swimming and is excited to help his students become strong swimmers.

Allian (seasonal)

Allian has been swimming all her life. She started swimming when she was just 18 months old! She was part of the girls scouts when she was younger and has had experience working with children with special needs and young children in general. She has previous experience teaching swim lessons for a year and a half. She has been teaching swim lessons at Waterworks for 3 years. She loves to work with kids and is dedicated to ensuring that every lesson is safe and enjoyable. She is excited to help her students to be safe in the water and show them just how fun swimming can be!

Alyssa

Alyssa has been swimming since she was 3 years old and began swimming competitively when she was 5 years old. She swam on a youth swim team for 10 years and her favorite event to compete in is the 50 butterfly. In addition to swimming, she played soccer competitively for 12 years. She comes to Waterworks with 2.5 years of previous experience as a swim instructor and coached a kids swim team for 2 summers. She goes to school at UC Irvine where she is studying cognitive science. Some of her hobbies include crocheting and making jewelry. Her favorite Disney princess is Rapunzel and her favorite food is spaghetti. Her favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is seeing each student's excitement when they learn a new skill.

Andrea (sub)

Andrea has been swimming ever since she can remember and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the butterfly. She has over 15 years old childcare experience as a nanny and babysitter. She goes to school at Golden West College where she is studying business. Some of her hobbies include running and cycling. She has a passion for helping students achieve their goals.

Andrew

Andrew has been swimming ever since he can remember and began swimming competitively for his high school's water polo team. In addition to swimming, he has competed in wrestling and track & field. He taught his 4 year old nephew how to swim and has worked with kids as a track coach. He goes to school at Cerritos College where he is studying film. In his free time, he enjoys drawing, lifting weights and watching new movies. His favorite cartoon character is Donald Duck and his favorite food is fettucine alfredo. He has a passion for teaching his students about water safety.

Ava

Ava has been swimming since she was 4 years old and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the breaststroke. She swam competitively for 2 years in middle school. Ava has childcare experience as a summer camp counselor and as an educator for the Aquarium of the Pacific. She goes to school at UC Irvine where she is studying environmental science. Some of her hobbies include hiking and being outdoors. She is excited to help her students stay safe in the water.

Bella (seasonal)

Isabella has been swimming competitively and playing water polo since she was in high school and is currently doing so at the college level. Her favorite stroke is Butterfly and her favorite events include the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly. As a Waterworks Lifeguard and a teachers aid, she has had the chance to work with children of all ages in the water and in the classroom. She can’t wait to start helping her students advance through the levels and making sure they reach their goals. If she had to describe herself in three words it would be adaptable, hardworking and a leader. When she is not teaching she enjoys going to the beach, working out and spending time with her family. Fun fact Isabella’s favorite food are tacos and her favorite animal is a dolphin.

Bradley

Bradley has been swimming since he was 4 years old and swam competitively for 5 years. Additionally, he played water polo for 7 years, including for his high school's varsity water polo team for 4 years. He has experience teaching in the water as a middle school kids water polo teacher. He has childcare experience as an occupational therapist. He goes to school at Stanbridge University where he is studying occupational science. Some of his hobbies include reading and going to the beach. He is excited to help his students become safer swimmers.

Cameron

Cameron has been swimming since she took swim lessons here at Waterworks when she was 5 years old. She has 4 years of childcare experience as a caregiver, behavioral therapist and assistant director for a STEM summer camp. She goes to school at Orange Coast College where she is studying psychology. She has a passion for helping others and is excited to help her students learn new skills.

Chelsea H.

Chelsea learned how to swim when she was five years old and her favorite swim events are the 100 yard Freestyle, 200 yard Freestyle, and the 100 yard Backstroke. She swam competitively on both her high school's swim and water polo teams. She gained experience working with children through babysitting ages one through ten and tutoring students in Math and Science. Chelsea's favorite things about teaching swimming lessons is passing on her passion for the water. She is currently studying Nutrition and Food Dietetics at Santiago Canyon College. A fun fact about Chelsea is that she loves Disney princess movies!

Christine W

With over 13 years of extensive experience instructing children of all ages and abilities, we are thrilled to have Christine teaching at Waterworks Aquatics. She is a devoted instructor who will bring out the best in your little swimmer. Christine enjoys going to the movies and has taught at Waterworks since 2004. We are delighted to have her on our staff!

Clark

Clark has been swimming since he was 5 years old and his favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the breaststroke. He began swimming competitively at 10 years old and swam all throughout high school. He has experience as a certified swim instructor for the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Additionally, he has childcare experience as a youth and high school basketball coach. He goes to school at UC San Diego where he is studying public health. Some of his hobbies include golfing and watching sports. He is excited to help his students advance to competitive swimming.

Cody

Cody learned how to swim at the age of four with the help of his family. One of his favorite strokes is Freestyle. His favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is watching as his students learn and grow as young swimmers. Cody is currently attending Irvine Valley College where he is studying Kinesiology. Some of his hobbies include surfing, hiking and paddle boarding.

Destyn

Destyn has been swimming since he was 2 years old and took swim lessons here at Waterworks until he was 10 years old! He competed in youth swim competitions and his favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the freestyle. He did junior lifeguard training and swam with the junior lifeguards for a year. He has childcare experience as a babysitter for 2 years. Some of his hobbies include riding motorcycles and hiking. He is excited to teach his students new swim skills.

Emma

Emma has been swimming since she was 2 years old and swam competitively for 10 years throughout elementary and high school. Her favorite event to swim is the 200 free and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the breaststroke. She currently plays water polo for the Orange Coast Women's Water Polo team for 2 years. She has lifeguarding experience and coached a youth swim team in Laguna Beach. Additionally, she has childcare experience as a babysitter and Sunday school teacher. She goes to school at Orange Coast College where she is studying pre-nursing. Some of her hobbies include being outdoors and playing guitar. She is excited to teach her students new skills.

Farnaz

Fredy

Fredy has been swimming since he was 4 years old and began swimming competitively when he was 8 years old. He swam on a youth swim team for 4 years and competed for his high school's swim team for all 4 years. He was the captain of his varsity swim team and earned a Navy third class swim qualification. He goes to school at Irvine Valley College where he is studying aeronautics. Some of his hobbies include aviation and learning more about the marines. He is excited to help his students learn new skills.

Hayley

Hayley has been swimming since she was 5 years old and began swimming competitively in high school. She played varsity water polo for all 4 years of high school and continued at the collegiate level for 3 years. She worked as a lifeguard for over 4 years and has experience teaching swim lessons to kids of all ages. Additionally, she coached a girl's high school swim team for 3 years. She has childcare experience as a babysitter and as a church volunteer. She goes to school at Whittier College where she is studying kinesiology. Some of her hobbies include going to the beach and hiking. She is excited to see each student's swim progress.

Hillary

Hillary swam here at Waterworks for 6 years and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the freestyle. She has experience working in the water as a lifeguard for a water park. Additionally, she has childcare experience as a tutor. She goes to school at CSU Long Beach where she is studying finance. Some of her hobbies include doing nails and working with kids. She is excited to help her students become more confident in the water.

Hunter

Hunter has been swimming since he was a child and his favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the freestyle. He swam with the junior lifeguards and has experience surfing. Some of his hobbies include playing sports and hanging out with friends. He is excited to show his students how fun the water can be.

Jacob

Jacob has been swimming since he was 7 years old. He has experience working with students with special needs and has a passion for helping students learn new skills. He goes to school at Irvine Valley College where he is studying audio engineering. Some of his hobbies include rock climbing and playing guitar.

Jaeyi

Jaeyi has been swimming since he was 11 years old and his favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the backstroke. He has childcare experience as a middle school tutor for 2 years! Some of his hobbies include running and playing different instruments. He is excited to share his swimming skills with his students.

Jewel

Jewel has been swimming since she can remember and her favorite stroke to swim and teach others is the breaststroke. In his school, she swam on the water polo team for all 4 years. She began lifeguarding at 16 years old and quickly began teaching swim lessons. After about 5 years of teaching swim lessons, she managed a local swimming pool. Additionally, she has worked with kids as a babysitter and a childcare teacher at her church. She goes to school at The LA Film School where she is studying script writing. She loves watching the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and she enjoys reading poetry. She looks forward to making each lesson fun for her students.

Katie (seasonal)

Katie began swimming when she was 3 years old when she took swim lessons here at Waterworks! She swam for a competitive swim club for 14 years and joined her varsity swim team in high school where she received the scholar athlete award every year. Katie has 4 years of experience working as a swim instructor for students of all ages. Additionally, she has childcare experience as a babysitter. Katie goes to school at University of Utah where she is studying accounting. She has a passion for swimming and being outdoors. She is excited to see their students face as they achieve their goal for the first time!

Kyro

Kyro began swimming at the age of seven and his favorite stroke is Backstroke. What he foresees being the best part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to teach his students such a valuable lesson. He is currently attending Irvine Valley College where he is studying Computer Science. In his free time he enjoys going to the gym with his friends and playing video games.

Lesley

Lesley has been swimming since she was 7 years old and took swim lessons for 3 years. She swam competitively for 1 year in high school and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the freestyle. She has experience working with adult with disabilities. Some of her hobbies include going to the gym and swimming in the ocean. She is excited to help her students master their swim technique.

Lillian (sub)

Lillian learned how to swim here at Waterworks when she was 8 years old. She swam competitively with a youth swim club for 5 years and currently plays water polo for the North Irvine Water Polo team. Her favorite event to swim is the 100 backstroke and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the breaststroke. In high school, she earned a varsity letter in water polo, cross country and track! She has experience working with kids in the water as junior lifeguard camp instructor for 2 years. In her free time, she enjoys reading, riding on roller coasters and going to the beach. Her favorite food is Alfredo pasta and her favorite animals are dogs. She is excited to help her students perfect their swim technique.

Lilly(sub)

Lilly swam competitively and played water polo for 7 years. Her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the breaststroke. She has 2 years of experience coaching gymnastics and has several years of childcare experience. She goes to school at Cal State Fullerton where she is studying communications. Her favorite movie is Moana and her favorite animals are jellyfish. She has a passion for working with kids of all ages.

Lizzie

Elizabeth learned how to swim here at Waterworks when she was a child. She swam competitively for a youth swim team for 15 years and continued at the collegiate level at the University of Arizona for 4 years. Her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the freestyle. She has previous experience as a youth swim team coach for 2 years. She goes to school at the University of Arizona where she is studying political science. Some of her hobbies include reading and golfing. She is excited to introduce her students to competitive swimming.

Lizzy

Lizzy has been swimming since she was three years old. She played club and high school volleyball for five years. She also volunteers for her church's children's ministry on Sunday's. She has a bachelor's degree in Human Services from Cal State Fullerton. She enjoys going to the beach and Disneyland, and loves spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite Disney movie is The Little Mermaid and she loves Spider-Man. She is excited to see her students grow and become comfortable in the water.

Mathew V.

Mathew has been swimming competitively for 13 years on water polo and swim teams. In high school, he was named "Most Valued Player" on his school's water polo team. His favorite event to swim is the 100 free and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the freestyle. He has experience working with kids as a boy scout troop leader. Some of his hobbies include being outdoors, going to the beach and working out. His favorite movie is Hercules and his favorite books are the Percy Jackson series. He is excited to help his students become safer swimmers.

Maxim

Maxim began taking swimming lessons at the age of five and his favorite stroke is Breaststroke. As the oldest in the family, he has been looking after his younger brother for most of his life and he feels very comfortable working with children. His favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to see his student's faces light up each time they learn something new. During his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, reading books, and playing video games.

Nick

Nick has been swimming since he was 5 years old and now swims distance in the ocean. He swam on his high school's varsity team, where he swam distance freestyle and butterfly. His favorite stroke to teach is the freestyle and butterfly. He graduated from CSUF in kinesiology, and is on the pathway for DPT school. His favorite movies are the Harry Potter movies and his favorite animals are snakes. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is watching the students progress through difficult challenges and reaching their swim goals safely and efficiently.

Noah

Noah has been swimming competitively since he was 7 years old and has continued through college where he has competed on the Biola University swim team for 2 years. In high school, he was the swim team captain for 2 years. His favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the freestyle. He has experience working as a swim instructor for 3 years. Additionally, he has worked with kids as a summer camp counselor. Some of his hobbies include being outdoors and reading. His favorite movie is The Incredibles and his favorite animals are dogs. He is excited to help his students learn about water safety.

Sasha

Sasha has been swimming since she was 2 years old and swam competitively for 10 years including on her high school's swim team. She was a finalist at the jr olympics and attended CIF for 2 years. Some of her hobbies include swimming and eating sushi. She is excited to help her students become more confident.

Steven

Steven played water polo for his high school for 3 years and his favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the butterfly. He goes to school at UCI where he is studying biomedical engineering. He is excited to help his students accomplish their goals.

Tianna

Tianna comes from a family of swimmers and water polo players. She was a part of the Varsity Swim and Water Polo team in high school. Her favorite strokes are the freestyle and breaststroke and her favorite strokes to teach are the breaststroke and butterfly. She worked as a pool lifeguard for three years and taught her younger sister how to swim. She is excited to help kids get more comfortable and be confident in the water. She currently attends Saddleback and is studying to become an Elementary School Teacher. Her favorite dessert are brownies and likes to eat chicken mole and chile rellenos. Her favorite hobbies are cooking , reading and hiking. Her favorite animals are dogs and bunnies. Tianna is caring, companionate and dedicated.

Willow

Willow has been swimming since she was 1 years old and swam for her high school's varsity swim and water polo teams. She has won championships in her high school division and her team won their division. Her favorite event to swim is the 100 breaststroke and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the breaststroke. She has experience working with kids as a daycare teacher for 2 years.  Some of her hobbies include working out, hiking and doing yoga. Her favorite Disney princess is Rapunzel and her favorite animals are bears. She has a passion for water safety and is excited to teach each student new skills. 

Youngsuh

Youngsuh has been swimming ever since he can remember and learned to swim from his parents who were scuba diving instructors. He competed on a youth swim team and continued swimming on his high school's swim team. His favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the freestyle. He has childcare experience as a daycare volunteer. Some of his hobbies include training to get his aviation license and scuba diving. He is excited to teach his students how to have fun in the water.

Zachary

Zachary has been swimming for over 16 years and swam for several kids swim clubs. His favorite event to swim is the 200 IM and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the butterfly. He helped coach a high school swim team and has several years of childcare experience. He went to school at CSUB where he studied sociology. Some of his hobbies include snowboarding and learning about history. He is excited to teach his students important life skills!

Zahra

Zahra has been swimming since she was 5 years old and swam competitively for 2 years in high school. Her favorite event to compete in is the 50 free and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the breaststroke. She has taught her younger family members how to swim and perfect their technique. She has worked with kids as an elementary volunteer and as a babysitter. When she is not teaching she enjoys hiking, which she does every Sunday morning. Her favorite movie is The Descendants and her favorite animals are chihuahuas. She is excited to see her students improve their skills overtime.
