Aiden

Mason

Mason swam for a youth swim club since he was 10 years old until high school. He competed on his high school's swim team for all 4 years where he won several awards. He continued swimming at the collegiate level for the San Antonio College swim team for 2 years. He has previous experience as a competitive swim coach for kids of all ages. He goes to school for studio art and some of his hobbies include painting and hiking. He is excited to help his students reach their swim goals.

Matthew (SUB)

Matthew has been swimming since he was 3 years old and swam competitively for a youth swim club. In high school he swam for his school's varsity swim team and won several ribbons. His favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the backstroke. He has 5 years of experience working with kids as a church youth group leader. He goes to school at Cal State LA where he is studying biology. Some of his hobbies include reading, writing and eating cheeseburgers. His favorite movie is Across the Spiderverse and his favorite animals are otters. He is excited to help his students learn about water safety.

Ruben (sub)

Ruben has been swimming since he was 4 years old and his favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the breaststroke. In addition to swimming, he has competed in weightlifting. He has experience working with kids for 4 years as a babysitter. He goes to school at Cal Poly Pomona where he is studying kinesiology. His favorite food is pizza and his favorite animals are dogs. He is excited to help his students become safer swimmers.

Samantha

Samantha has been swimming since she was a child and began swimming competitively in high school for the swim and water polo teams. She was named "Best Defense" 2 years in a row for her water polo team and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the breaststroke. She has childcare experience as an elementary school volunteer for 5 years and as a private tutor. She goes to school at Santiago Canyon College where she is studying sociology. Some of her hobbies include crocheting and being with her pet bunny. She is excited to help her students gain confidence.

Suzu

Aransazu has been swimming since she was 8 years old and swam competitively in high school for 3 years. Her favorite event to compete in is the 50 breaststroke and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the freestyle. On her high school's water polo team, she received the "biggest heart" award 2 years in a row! In college, she continued to take swim conditioning courses and has 2 years of swim teaching experience here at Waterworks. She has childcare experience working with kids as a gardening instructor for elementary students. Some of her hobbies include thrift shopping, trying new coffee shops and journaling. Her favorite movie is Luca and her favorite animals are turtles. She is excited to see each student improve their swim skills throughout their lessons.
