Irvine Swim Instructors

Adan

Adan has been swimming since he can remember and took swim lessons to perfect his skills at 9 years old. His favorite event to compete in is the 100 free and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the freestyle. He has worked with kids as a tutor and as a babysitter. 

He goes to school at UC Irvine where he is studying computer science. His favorite movie is Mulan and his favorite animals is his dog named Momo. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is seeing his students become more confident.

Adrianna

Adrianna has been swimming for fifteen years and has seven years of water polo experience. She swam and played varsity water polo all four years of high school and continues to do so at the collegiate level. Her favorite event to compete in is the 200-yard breaststroke and her favorite stroke to teach her students is backstroke. She has experience working with kids as a Waterworks Aquatics Lifeguard and Swim Camp Coach. Additionally, Adrianna has experience babysitting and working as a Teacher Assistant for children with special needs.

She is currently attending Goldenwest College where she is studying Sociology. In her free time, she enjoys painting, drawing, and going to the beach. Her favorite movie is Moana and her favorite animals are dogs. She is excited to introduce her students to swimming as this is something she really enjoys and is extremely important to her.

Allian

Allian has been swimming all her life. She started swimming when she was just 18 months old! Swimming and lacrosse are Allian’s passion, and currently she is on the varsity team for lacrosse in her school.Allian’s favorite swimming stroke to teach is the back stroke! Allian was also a part of the girls scouts when she was younger and has had experience working with children with special needs and young children in general. 

She loves to work with kids and is dedicated to ensuring that every lesson is safe and enjoyable. She is excited to help her students to be safe in the water and show them just how fun swimming can be!

Alyssa

Alyssa has been swimming since she was 3 years old and began swimming competitively when she was 5 years old. She swam on a youth swim team for 10 years and her favorite event to compete in is the 50 butterfly. In addition to swimming, she played soccer competitively for 12 years. She comes to Waterworks with 2.5 years of previous experience as a swim instructor and coached a kids swim team for 2 summers. 

She goes to school at UC Irvine where she is studying cognitive science. Some of her hobbies include crocheting and making jewelry. Her favorite Disney princess is Rapunzel and her favorite food is spaghetti. Her favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is seeing each student's excitement when they learn a new skill. 

Amanda

Amanda started playing splash ball when she was 8 years old which made her fall in love with swimming. She swam for her high school's swim and water polo teams. Her favorite event to compete in is the 50 free and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the backstroke. She worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for kids of all ages. Additionally, she worked as a nanny and volunteered for her church's nursery. 

Some of her hobbies include painting, drawing and making music. Her favorite movie is Moana and her favorite food is sushi. Her favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is seeing the excitement on her student's faces.

Andrew

Andrew has been swimming ever since he can remember and began swimming competitively for his high school's water polo team. In addition to swimming, he has competed in wrestling and track & field. He taught his 4 year old nephew how to swim and has worked with kids as a track coach. 

He goes to school at Cerritos College where he is studying film. In his free time, he enjoys drawing, lifting weights and watching new movies. His favorite cartoon character is Donald Duck and his favorite food is fettucine alfredo. He has a passion for teaching his students about water safety.

Caroline

Caroline has been swimming since she took lessons as a child and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the freestyle. In addition to swimming, she has experience playing competitive soccer, flag football and volleyball. She has worked with kids of all ages as a babysitter. 

Some of her hobbies include hiking, going to the gym and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite movie is Tangled and her favorite animals are dogs. She is excited to help her students learn new swim skills. 

Chelsea H.

Chelsea learned how to swim when she was five years old and her favorite swim events are the 100 yard Freestyle, 200 yard Freestyle, and the 100 yard Backstroke. She swam competitively on both her high school's swim and water polo teams. She gained experience working with children through babysitting ages one through ten and tutoring students in Math and Science.

Chelsea's favorite things about teaching swimming lessons is passing on her passion for the water. She is currently studying Nutrition and Food Dietetics at Santiago Canyon College. A fun fact about Chelsea is that she loves Disney princess movies!

Christine

With over 13 years of extensive experience instructing children of all ages and abilities, we are thrilled to have Christine teaching at Waterworks Aquatics. She is a devoted instructor who will bring out the best in your little swimmer.

Christine enjoys going to the movies and has taught at Waterworks since 2004. We are delighted to have her on our staff!

Daniel

Daniel has been competitively swimming since he was 13 years old and has won several medals. His favorite event to compete in is the 50 butterfly and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the freestyle. 

He goes to school at Irvine Valley College where he is studying animation. In his free time, he enjoys drawing and playing video games. His favorite movie is Treasure Planet and his favorite animals are lizards. He enjoys working with each student to help perfect their swim technique. 

Dmitriy

Dmitriy has been swimming since he was 8 years old and swam for several youth swim clubs. His favorite event to compete in is the 50 free and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the freestyle. He has experience played volleyball and water polo. He has worked with kids as a lifeguard and as a babysitter. 

In his free time, he enjoys learning about computer science and eating sushi. His favorite movie is The Lion King and his favorite book is Percy Jackson. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is seeing each student's progress.

Ethan

Ethan has been swimming since he was nine years old and has six years of competitive swimming experience for which two years were at the collegiate level. He also has over seven years of water polo experience with three of those years being at the collegiate level. His favorite swimming events to compete in include the 50-yard and 100-yard Freestyle. He has experience working with kids as a swim instructor and babysitter.

In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, going to the beach, camping and flying. His favorite movie is Cars and his favorite animals are German Shepard's. He is most excited to see his students go from being scared of the water to swimming on their own.

Hallie

Hallie began swimming when she was 1 year old and competed on her high school’s water polo and swim teams for 4 years. Her favorite strokes are Freestyle and Breaststroke. Hallie gained experience working with children ages 4 months to 7 years as a babysitter. She also volunteers for her church, leading bible studies for children. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing her students' progress and have fun.

Hallie is currently studying Biochemistry at Santiago Canyon College. A few of Hallie’s hobbies include art, spending time with friends, listening to music, swimming, and running. An interesting fact about Hallie is she loves elephants and hippos.

Hannah

Hannah began swimming at the age of three with the help of her family. She swam competitively for two years while in high school. Her favorite stroke is Butterfly and her favorite event is the 100 Freestyle. Hannah has worked as a babysitter for three years and has had the chance to look after children of all ages and feels very comfortable working with children.

Her favorite part of teaching swimming lessons is being able to create a bond with her student’s and making sure they feel comfortable. Some of her hobbies include cooking and spending time with her friends and family.

Isabella V.

Isabella has been swimming competitively and playing water polo since she was in high school and is currently doing so at the college level. Her favorite stroke is Butterfly and her favorite events include the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly. As a Waterworks Lifeguard and a teachers aid, she has had the chance to work with children of all ages in the water and in the classroom. She can’t wait to start helping her students advance through the levels and making sure they reach their goals. If she had to describe herself in three words it would be adaptable, hardworking and a leader. When she is not teaching she enjoys going to the beach, working out and spending time with her family. Fun fact Isabella’s favorite food are tacos and her favorite animal is a dolphin.

Jaik

Jaik has been swimming ever since she can remember and swam for a youth swim team for 6 years. Her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the butterfly. She has taught friends and family members how to improve their swim technique. She has experience working with kids as  an after school activities teacher and through her mom's children's theater company. 

She goes to school at Saddleback College where she is studying political science. Her favorite movie is Moana and her favorite books are the Harry Potter series. She is excited to see each student improve throughout their lessons. 

Jason

Jason learned how to swim at a young age and his favorite stroke is Freestyle. He swam competitively on the swim and water polo teams all throughout high school and he rose to the position of team captain on both teams. Jason currently swims at the collegiate level and his favorite event is the 500 yard Freestyle because it is his specialty and he broke the league record in this event in high school.

He gained experience working with children through taking care of the foster children his family took in. His favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is watching his students grow in confidence and skill. Jason is currently studying Business Sciences at Fullerton College. A fun fact about Jason is that he loves working on cars and building computers!

Jordan

Jordan has been competitively swimming since she was 6 years old for a summer swim team. Since then she has swam for several competitive swim teams and has received several swim awards. Her favorite event to compete in is the 500 free and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the freestyle. She has experience helping her swim coaches teach swim technique. She has worked with kids of all ages for over a year as a babysitter and tutor. 

She goes to school at Irvine Valley College where she is studying marine biology. Some of her hobbies include photography and surfing. She loves to watch Disney movies, her favorite movie is Luca and her favorite character is Buzz Lightyear. She has a passion for helping her students become safer in and around the water. 

Kailani

Kailani has been swimming ever since she can remember and has been surfing for 9 years. Her favorite event to compete in is the 25 butterfly and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the breaststroke. She has experience working with kids of all ages in the water as a lifeguard. 

In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, doing nails and helping others. Her favorite movie is Moana and her favorite food is tacos. She is patient and is excited to connect with her students.

Kaylee

Kaylee has been swimming since she was 2 years old and began swimming competitively at 10 years old. She swam for a local youth swim club for 2 years and swam for all 4 years of high school on the school's swim team. Her favorite event to compete in is the 100 fly and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the freestyle. She has experience working with kids as a preschool teacher for 2 years. 

She goes to school at OCC where she is studying psychology. In her free time she enjoys surfing and watching Disney movies. Her favorite movie is Inside Out and her favorite animals are dolphins. She is excited to cheer her students on while they learn new skills. 

Kyro

Kyro began swimming at the age of seven and his favorite stroke is Backstroke. What he foresees being the best part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to teach his students such a valuable lesson. He is currently attending Irvine Valley College where he is studying Computer Science. In his free time he enjoys going to the gym with his friends and playing video games.

Lexi

Lexi has been swimming since she was 10 years old and swam competitively in high school. She received the award for Most Improved on her swim team and was named MVP on her water polo team. Her favorite event to compete in is the 50 breaststroke and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the freestyle. She has experience working as a lifeguard and as a swim camp counselor. 

She goes to school at Golden West College where she is studying psychology. Some of her hobbies include painting, reading and going to the beach. Her favorite movie is Tangled and her favorite food is sushi. She is excited to see each student have fun in the water!

Lisa

Lisa has been swimming since she was 5 years old. Her favorite stroke to swim is the breaststroke and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the backstroke. In addition to swimming, she has been playing soccer since she was 7 years old and swam on her high school's varsity team. She has experience teaching her friends and family of all ages how to swim. She has worked with kids of all ages as a nanny and a daycare teacher. 

In her free time, she enjoys exploring new places and going hiking. Her favorite movie is Moana and her favorite animals are mini schnauzers. She is excited to help her students accomplish their swimming goals.

Maxim

Maxim began taking swimming lessons at the age of five and his favorite stroke is Breaststroke. As the oldest in the family, he has been looking after his younger brother for most of his life and he feels very comfortable working with children. His favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to see his student's faces light up each time they learn something new. During his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, reading books, and playing video games.
 

Nick

Nick has been swimming since he was 5 years old and swam competitively in high school. He swam on high school's varsity team where he competed in CIF 3 times. His favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the freestyle. He coached his school's freshman swim team and has worked with kids as a babysitter for 5 years. 

He goes to school Cal State Fullerton where he is studying kinesiology. His favorite movies are the Harry Potter movies and his favorite animals are snakes. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is helping his students achieve their swim goals. 

Nikhil

Nikhil has been swimming ever since he can remember and swam for his high school's surf team. He swam with the junior guards for 2 years and his favorite stroke to swim is the breaststroke. He has experience working with kids as an audience manager for a kids show. 

Some of his hobbies include snowboarding, video games and playing the guitar. His favorite movie is Aladdin and his favorite animals are dogs. He is excited to make an impact in his student's lives.

Peyton

Peyton has been swimming since he was 3 years old. His favorite stroke to swim is the backstroke and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the butterfly. He has experience working with kids as a coach for youth baseball, basketball, flag football and soccer. 

He goes to school at CBU where he is studying sport and performance psychology. Some of his hobbies include being outdoors, spending time with family and cooking. His favorite food is pasta and his favorite character is Spongebob. He has a passion for water safety and his excited to make a difference in his student's lives.

Rob

Rob learned how to swim by taking swim lessons when he was 7 years old. His favorite event to compete in is the 400 free and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the backstroke. He has experience in the water as an assistant swim instructor. Additionally, he worked with kids as an after school and summer camp counselor.

He goes to school at Cal Poly Pomona where he is studying architecture. Some of his hobbies include playing guitar, hiking and camping. His favorite movie is Lilo & Stitch and his favorite animals are turtles. He is excited to share his passion for swimming with his students.

Savanna

Savanna has been swimming since she learned by taking swim lessons here at Waterworks! She swam competitively for 2 youth swim teams. Additionally, she swam for her high school's swim team. Her favorite stroke to swim is the freestyle and her favorite stroke to teach her students is the butterfly. She comes to Waterworks with 4 years of experience as a swim instructor. She has worked with kids of all ages as a babysitter for 6 years. 

Some of her hobbies include reading, photography and exploring nature. Her favorite movie is The Little Mermaid and her favorite animals are orcas. She is excited to see each student fall in love with the water.

Sebastian

Sebastian has been swimming since he was 3 years old and his favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the freestyle. In high school, he swam competitively for his school's water polo, swim and surf teams. He was an assistant swim coach and would teach swim technique to the freshman swimmers. In the boy scouts, he worked with kids as a merit badge teacher. 

He goes to school at UC Irvine where he is studying physical sciences. His favorite movie is Star Wars and his favorite books are the Harry Potter series. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is helping his students learn a lifelong skill. 

Shahob

Shahob has been swimming since he was 3 years old and swam at swim competitions here at Waterworks. His favorite event to compete in is the 200 freestyle and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the butterfly. He has experience working with kids as a volunteer for the Irvine Junior Games where he helped coach children for events. 

In his free time, he enjoys playing video games and building things. His favorite movie is The Lion King and his favorite animals are dogs. He is excited to encourage his students to reach their full potential. 

Tianna

Tianna comes from a family of swimmers and water polo players. She was a part of the Varsity Swim and Water Polo team in high school. Her favorite strokes are the freestyle and breaststroke and her favorite strokes to teach are the breaststroke and butterfly. She worked as a pool lifeguard for three years and taught her younger sister how to swim.

She is excited to help kids get more comfortable and be confident in the water. She currently attends Saddleback and is studying to become an Elementary School Teacher. Her favorite dessert are brownies and likes to eat chicken mole and chile rellenos. Her favorite hobbies are cooking , reading and hiking. Her favorite animals are dogs and bunnies. Tianna is caring, companionate and dedicated.

Tobi

Tobi has been swimming since he was 12 years old and swam competitively on his high school's water polo team. His favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the breaststroke. He has a passion for helping kids and has taken several courses in child development and psychology. 

He goes to school at Fullerton Community College where he is studying to become an ER nurse. In his free time, he enjoys animation, working out and learning about art. His favorite character is Lightning McQueen from the movie Cars and his favorite animals are cats. He is excited to help students of all ages learn to swim.

Tori

Tori swam for four years throughout high school and for another two years at Golden West College. She was the 2015 Orange Empire Conference Champion for the 100 yard and 200 yard Breaststroke. Tori gained experience working with newborns to 13 year old children as a nanny and a volunteer at Sunday School. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is getting to know her students.

Tori is currently attending California Baptist University where she is studying Sports, Recreation and Fitness. A few of her hobbies include cooking, baking, and playing on the swings at the park. An interesting fact about Tori is she loves Disney movies, especially Tangled.

Vanessa

Vanessa began swimming at the age of fifteen when she began swimming competitively for Western High School and competed all four years of high school. Her favorite stroke is Backstroke and her favorite event is the 200 yard relay. She has gained most of her experience working with elementary students while helping assist at her local elementary. She would help set up lesson plans and execute the lessons and help and students with any questions they might have.

Her favorite part of teaching her students is being able to see their improvement through time. Some of Vanessa’s hobbies include hiking, swimming and bike riding.

Victoria

Victoria has been swimming competitively since she was 15 years old in high school and her favorite event to compete in is the 200 breaststroke. Additionally, she swam for a swim club and played water polo competitively. She worked as a lifeguard and as a swim instructor for kids of all ages for 1 year. 

She goes to school at OCC where she is studying biology. In her free time, she enjoys working on her car and roller-skating. Her favorite movie is Mulan and her favorite food is sushi. She is excited to show her students how fun the water can be!

Zach

Zach began swimming competitively in the 1st grade and continued through his sophomore year of high school. His favorite event to compete in is the 100 IM and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the breaststroke. He has experience working in the water as a lifeguard assistant for the junior lifeguards for over 4 years. Additionally, he has worked as a camp counselor and as a birthday party assistant. 

He goes to school at Chapman University where he is studying animation. In his free time, he enjoys running, going to the beach and surfing. His favorite movie is Hercules and his favorite song is We Don't Talk About Bruno from Encanto. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is helping his students develop their skills. 

Zachary

Zachary has been swimming since he was 2 years old and his favorite stroke to swim and teach his students is the freestyle. In addition to swimming, he ran competitively in high school and was the captain of the distance team. He has over 6 years of experience working with kids of all ages. 

He goes to school at Adams State University where he is working on his masters in coaching. In his free time, he enjoys writing and reading. His favorite movie is Aladdin and his favorite animals are dogs. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is helping his students improve their technique.
