New Irvine Instructors


Waterworks Aquatics would like to welcome our new Irvine instructors - Colleen, Henry & Braulio!

To find out more about their swimming background and experience working with children, please read below:

Colleen

Colleen learned to swim when she was one year old. She swam competitively and played water polo all four years in high school. She was both varsity swim and water polo MVP as well as part of the first league water polo team, and was undefeated in Breaststroke for two years. She competed at CIF for three years and placed 9th in her division at the championship finals. Her favorite stroke is Breaststroke and her favorite events include the 100 Breaststroke, 200 Individual Medley and the 200 Freestyle relay. Colleen has gained experience with children of all ages while previously working as a deck guard here at Waterworks. Her favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to see her students improve their skills while still having fun in the water. Colleen is currently attending Cal Poly Pomona where she is studying English Education. Some of her hobbies include reading and listening to music.

Henry

Henry began swimming at the age of twelve when joined his high school swim. He swam competitively all throughout high school and his favorite stroke is Breaststroke. Henry has worked with children of all ages he gained much of his experience while working as a Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Leader where he serve as a mentor to adolescents and teens. He also worked as a personal tutor creating lesson plans and study plans based on the student’s skills. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is being able to help his students become better swimmers. Henry is currently attending University of California, Irvine where he is studying Sociology. In his free time he really enjoys working out and doing physical activities. He loves to exercise.

Braulio

Braulio began swimming at the age of eight and his favorite stroke is Butterfly. The thing he enjoys the most about teaching swimming lessons is watching his students grow and advance their swimming skills. Braulio has worked with children of all ages; as the oldest of three children he gained experience through babysitting his younger siblings. Some of Braulio’s hobbies include yoga, going to the movies and art.
