Our experienced team of swim instructors at the Northridge - Balboa location have a passion for sharing their swim skills with you. Waterworks Swim School Instructors aim to motivate each student and boost their confidence in the water, which will allow them to become stronger swimmers. Our team’s goal is to provide a fun, educational and welcoming environment to help their students become excellent swimmers.

Emmanuel
Emmanuel has been swimming since he was 10 years old and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the freestyle. He has taken several classes to help improve his swim technique. He has a passion for motivating his students and helping them achieve their swim goals.
He goes to school at LA Valley College where he is studying kinesiology. Some of his hobbies include listening to music, playing video games and watching movies with his loved ones. His favorite movie is Cars and his favorite animals are dogs. He is excited to help his students improve their swim technique.

Katie
Katie has been swimming since she was 8 years old and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the backstroke. She makes each swim lesson fun and nurturing to her students.
She goes to school at Pierce College where she is studying education and child development. In her free time, she enjoys reading, singing and dancing. Her favorite Disney princess is Ariel and her favorite animals are cats. She is excited to help her students achieve their swim goals.

Sona
Sona has been swimming since she was 1 years old and her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the breaststroke. She has experience helping kids ages 2-10 years old how to improve their swim skills. Additionally, she has worked with kids as a martial arts instructor for 3 years.
In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar and building Lego sets. Her favorite movie is The Lion King and she loves the Marvel franchise. She is excited to help her students become safer in and around the water.
