Toys for Tots
Children are one of our nation’s most valuable resources. Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders – civic, business and social. Alarmingly, approximately 13 million America children live in poverty. Studies reveal that growing up in poverty can have an adverse psychological impact on a child. One of the adverse impacts is low self-esteem – a by-product of little or no hope for the future.Each child has a choice of two paths to the future. One path leads to a productive life as an asset to the community. The other path leads to a life of dependency on the community for support. Without outside help, the path of least resistance is too often the path to a life of dependency.
Waterworks Aquatics is excited to be participating in the Foundation Army Toys for Tots drive! The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
Each Waterworks Aquatics location will have a box near the front where you can drop off donated toys. We ask that the toys be for children ages 12 and under. Please do not wrap the toys, please do not bring toys with realistic weapons or food in it, and please do not submit any opened gifts. Ask the front desk for more information. :)
