Lap Swim Program


For those of you looking for a fantastic new opportunity to exercise on your own time in one of the healthiest and most enjoyable ways out there, our Lap Swim Program at Waterworks Aquatics may be just for you! With clean and heated pools waiting year-round for you to take a dip, Waterworks provides both indoor and outdoor options for anyone over 18 years of age to come in and swim laps or exercise in their own lane. You might know by now that swimming is great for general exercise, but did you know that swimming consistently also builds endurance, cardio-vascular health, and muscle strength? For many people, the low-impact aspect of the water exercise is a great alternative to "dry land" workouts when joint and muscle pain are an issue. Resistance in water ranges between 4 and 42 times greater than in air, depending on the speed of movement. This makes water a natural and instantly-adjustable weight-training machine. Consequently, your heart rate is an estimated 10-15 beats lower per minute during suspended water exercise than for the same effort applied on land. And let’s be honest, sometimes it’s just too hot out during these toasty end-of-summer weeks to be outside doing cardio.

The cost is $6 per individual visit, or $5 per visit when purchasing 4 or more sessions at a time.
