Our talented team of swim instructors in Harbor City look forward to sharing their swim skills with you. Waterworks Swim School instructors strive to motivate their students and boost their confidence in the water allowing them to become stronger swimmers. Our team’s goal is to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment to help all students ages 2.5 and up to perfect their skills in the water.
We believe that swimming is an important lifelong skill that everyone should learn. Waterworks is the perfect place to gain the experience needed to be safer in the water while building a solid swimming foundation.

Adan
Adan has been swimming since he can remember and took swim lessons to perfect his skills at 9 years old. His favorite event to compete in is the 100 free and his favorite stroke to teach his students is the freestyle. He has worked with kids as a tutor and as a babysitter.
He goes to school at UC Irvine where he is studying computer science. His favorite movie is Mulan and his favorite animals is his dog named Momo. His favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is seeing his students become more confident.

Alexis
Alexis has been swimming since she took swim lessons when she was 1 years old. Her favorite stroke to swim and teach her students is the backstroke. In addition to swimming, she has been dancing since she was 3 years old and was the captain of her high school's dance team for all 4 years. She has 4 years of experience working with kids of all ages as a dance instructor.
She goes to school at CSU Dominguez Hills where she is studying business. Some of her hobbies include learning about cars and going to the beach. Her favorite movie character is Baymax from Big Hero 6 and her favorite animals are owls. She is excited to help each student become a more confident swimmer.

Carol
Carol has been swimming since she was 3 years old and her favorite stroke is freestyle. She has taught several friends and family members how to swim. She has worked at a daycare center at her church for 4 years.
She enjoys art, playing basketball and watching movies. Her favorite movie is Tangled and her favorite books are The Hunger Games series. She is passionate about children’s happiness and teaching them to be safe in the water.

David J.
David has been swimming since he was 10 years old. His family would often take him to local lakes and he would go scuba diving with his father. He earned an open water diving certificate and took classes to become a certified CPR and first aid instructor.
In his free time, he enjoys crafting, making art and eating tacos. He is passionate about safety and is excited to teach his students more about water safety.

David K.
David has been swimming since he was 5 years old and has been sailing his whole life. He has several sailing and lifeguarding certifications and achievements. He has experience working with kids as a sailing instructor and would often help them with their swimming technique.
He goes to school at Cal State Dominguez Hills where he is going to school to become a teacher. His hobbies include reading, writing and studying philosophy. He loves pizza and has a passion for all animals. He is excited to help his students become safer in the water.

Heleina
Heleina has been swimming ever since she can remember and her family is full of swimmers, divers and surfers! She swam with the junior lifeguards for 6 years and taught each of her 5 siblings how to swim. In high school, she swam for her school's swim and water polo teams for all 4 years and was the CIF 1st place for the 100 free, 200 relay and 200 free.
She goes to school at El Camino College where she is studying to become a preschool teacher. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her friends. Her favorite movie is Sleeping Beauty and her favorite animals are cats. She is excited to help her students become more confident swimmers.

Jaylah
Jaylah started swimming when she was 10 years old. She enjoyed swimming so much that she later joined her high school’s water polo team and swam competitively for 4 years for both the swim team and the water polo team. Her favorite swimming stroke to teach is the freestyle. Jaylah’s teaching experience consisted of her teaching incoming freshman on how to swim and play water polo as the JV and Varsity Captain of the team. In addition, she has lots of babysitting experience and loves to work with children of all ages.
Jaylah is most excited about sharing her passion for swimming and being able to help her students progress through their goals!

Raquel
Raquel has been swimming since she was 6 years old and her favorite stroke to teach others is backstroke. She has experience working with kids as a daycare worker for 2 years. She went to school where she studied child development.
In her free time, she enjoys painting, eating sushi and reading. Her favorite movie is Princess and the Frog and she loves dogs. She is excited to help her students become water safe and improve their strokes.

Victor
Victor has been swimming since he was a young child and was involved in the junior lifeguards. He was on his high school’s swim team for 3 years. His favorite stroke is backstroke and his favorite event to compete in is the 50 freestyle. He worked as a lifeguard for the City of Carson for 10 years. Additionally, he worked as a swim instructor, working with students ranging 3 to adult.
In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, building computers and reading. His favorite movie is Aladdin and his favorite animals are dogs. He is excited to see his students grow more confident in the water.
