Stroke Clinic

|
Give your child a head start in competitive swimming and
advanced techniques today by enrolling in Stroke Clinic!
Stroke Clinics at Waterworks Aquatics are designed for
students who already have a strong foundation with the
fundamentals of swimming and desire to learn more advanced
swimming techniques, which are offered at our swimming school.
Students will enhance their strokes with drills taught by our
stroke technique instructors. We offer three different levels
of stroke clinic classes.
Requirements (Our office can review the levels with you):
|
Beginner
Our stroke clinic beginner classes are 20-minutes in length and
will have a 6:1 student:instructor ratio. The lessons are designed
to focus only on breast stroke and butterfly. The class is for
children who are 5 years of age or older and level 5 or higher.
|
Intermediate
Our stroke clinic intermediate classes are 40-minutes in length
and have a 12:1 student:intructor ratio. The intermediate class
is for children who are 5 years of age or older and level 6 or higher.
|
|
Advanced
Our stroke clinic advanced classes are 40-minutes in length and
have a 12:1 student:intructor ratio. The advanced class is for
children who are 9 years of age or older and level 6 or higher.
|
Stroke Clinic Intermediate and Advanced Classes Offer:
-
Physical conditioning – to build strength and stamina
-
Stroke refinement – to prevent bad habits
-
Advanced skills – skills that are beyond basic swimming such as starts and turns
-
Intensive coaching – students are given 1-on-1 critiquing and guidance
Many children who have potential to become great swimmers are placed on swim teams.
However, without adequate guidance and instruction, children do not learn the proper
techniques. As a result, improper techniques develop into bad habits which can hinder
progress.
Stroke Clinic puts emphasis on proper technique over speed. A strong technical
foundation will ensure that students progress much faster when the time comes for
them to work on speed. The stroke clinic is exciting and fast paced, and students
will receive a great workout.
