Costa Mesa
With over 12 years of extensive experience instructing
children of all ages and abilities, we are thrilled to
have Christine teaching at Waterworks Aquatics. She is
a devoted instructor who will bring out the best in your
little swimmer. She enjoys going to the movies and has
taught at Waterworks Aquatics since our very first season
in 2003 and we are delighted to have her on our staff!

Fullerton
Paul is currently studying Marine Biology at Fullerton College.
He has been swimming since the age of two and has enjoyed teaching
children to surf throughout the past year. When he is not teaching,
swimming or surfing, he enjoys traveling, camping and going to the beach.
Upon graduating from college Paul would like to work with marine life,
specifically sharks.

Phoenix
Carmella has an extensive swimming background and has been swimming
competitively since 10 years of age. She participated in several state
competitions while on her high school swim team. She has previously
taught swim lessons in Arizona to children ages 2 through 13. In her
spare time, Carmella enjoys going to the beach, swimming in the ocean
and playing video games.

Trabuco Canyon
David is currently studying Business and International Marketing at
Chapman University. He has worked previously as a tutor for children
ages 5 to 6 years old as well as working with children who have
disabilities. He has taught swim lessons in the past while working
at a summer camp and developed a love for children while working at
Disneyland. In his spare time, David enjoys playing hockey, going to
the beach and body boarding.

Courtney
Newport Beach
Courtney has been swimming for 20 years. She competed on her high
school varsity team for 3 years, and attended Northern Arizona University
on a swimming scholarship. She was awarded Most Valuable Swimmer on her
relay team in both college and high school. She has enjoyed teaching
swim lessons for over 3 years to children of all ages as well as coaching
several swim teams. With over 14 years of babysitting and nanny experience
we know that you and your child will feel comfortable with Courtney as your
instructor. Currently she is attending Fullerton College studying broadcast
journalism.

Hemet
Julian currently attends UC Irvine and is majoring in Film & Media Studies.
He has been swimming competitively since the age of 5 and was on the varsity
swim team during his 4 years of high school. He qualified and attended CIF
competitions in three events. Julian was also captain of his water polo team
in his senior year. He enjoys swimming, surfing, snowboarding, rock climbing
and going to the movies.

Vanessa
Sunset Beach
Vanessa is a graduate of Cal State Long Beach with a degree
in Recreational and Leisure Studies/Recreational Therapy. She
has swam competitively for 8 years, 4 years Varsity Swim Team and
CIF finals, 4 years Varsity Water Polo and CIF Championships, as
well as swimming on the NOVA Masters' Swim Team. She has worked with
children over the past 8 years and has taught swimming to all ages and
abilities. Vanessa enjoys sailing, running, rowing, yoga and reading.

Anaheim
Alan is currently attending Cypress College with a major in Physics.
He has been employed by Waterworks Aquatics as Lifeguard and Summer Swim
Camp Instructor during this past year. Alan has also been a volunteer at
the YMCA's summer camp program for young children as a camp counselor.
When he is not lap swimming for exercise, he enjoys surfing and playing
the guitar and drums.

Orange
Jessica is currently attending Fullerton College. She was on club swim
team as a child and swam on her varsity swim team in high school. Jessica
has been babysitting for her siblings, friends and relatives for several
years. She has previously worked for a photo studio where she entertained
children of all ages on a daily basis. An interesting fact about Jessica
is she can read backwards and upside down. Jessica enjoys photography and
writing in her spare time.

Tustin
Sally is attending Cal State Fullerton. She volunteers regularly at her
Church where she has served as a teacher, babysitter, and youth camp counselor.
She especially likes teaching children to swim because of the strong relationship
she builds with her students and the joy they find in the water. In high school,
Sally was on varsity swim team for 3 years and varsity water polo for 2. She loves
reading, painting, hiking, yoga and chocolate.

Joshua
Tustin
Joshua is majoring in music at Santiago Canyon College. He is a certified
lifeguard who loves surfing, playing guitar, and uses his spare time to
promote concerts and events. While working as a mentor for special needs
students at a local middle school, he developed a passion for teaching that
has helped him to become a better swim instructor. His favorite part of
teaching children to swim is watching their confidence grow as they become
stronger and safer in the water.

Lake Forest
Thomas has 5 years of competitive swimming experience and a strong water
polo background for which his club water polo team won a gold medal at
the Junior Olympics. He's also worked as a fitness camp leader at Los
Caballeros Sports Club where he introduced children to various athletic
activities. Thomas is currently majoring in Business Administration at Orange
Coast College and in his spare time enjoys skateboarding and going to the beach.

Orange
Audra is a student at Chapman University where she is majoring in Physical
Therapy. She has been swimming competitively for 12 years and is currently
on the Chapman University swim team. Audra has swam for swim clubs ranging
from NOVA Aquatics to Fullerton Aquatics Sports Team (FAST). In addition
to her competitive swimming experience, Audra has 3 years of swim teaching
experience with children ages 3 to 17 years of age. She has also volunteered
in classrooms helping first grade children with math and reading skills.

Chino
Megan is a student at Chapman University where she double majors
in History and Political Science. She began swimming at a very young
age and throughout high school participated in both swim team and water polo.
Megan has traveled all over the world and by the time she was a teenager had
visited 3 different continents. Her favorite thing about working at Waterworks
is being part of such a fun staff and working with our wonderful students!

Yorba Linda
Emily is a student at Cal State Long Beach where she is studying
Math Education in preparation to become a high school math teacher.
She has over 10 years of competitive swimming experience and at
Esperanza High School was part of both the Swim and Water Polo
Team. In the past, Emily was a volunteer at the Yorba Linda YMCA
as a swim instructor where she developed a passion for sharing her
love of the water. In her spare time, Emily enjoys shopping and
spending time with family and friends.

Laguna Beach
Jared is currently studying Classics at Cal State Long Beach in
hopes of one day going to Law School. With a large extended family
of young cousins, he has developed a passion for working with children.
Throughout high school and college he has strengthened his teaching
skills by tutoring English to underprivileged youths in the greater
Long Beach area. He has always had a love for swimming and one of
his favorite things about working at Waterworks is that he can combine
education with his love for the water.

Lake Forest
Dylan has always enjoyed working with children and spent one
year as an after-school monitor for the Farm School in Aliso
Viejo. There, he was responsible for creating lesson plans
that would foster creativity and self confidence among his
students. When he was younger, Dylan participated in the Irvine
Swim League as a member of the Turtle Rock Broadmoor Sharks. He
is now studying Business at Cal State Fullerton and spends his
spare time surfing, going to the beach, and snowboarding.

Cypress
Mike is majoring in Business Administration at Cerritos College and
for the past 2 years has been a regular volunteer for the City of La
Palma's youth sports and recreation program. He is a huge baseball
fan who has been able to transition his love for athletics into swim
instruction. Mike loves being part of a staff that is committed to
working with children and enjoys watching his students move from skill
to skill. In his spare time, he enjoys playing volleyball, baseball,
and spending time with friends.

Irvine
Meghan has been a competitive swimmer for over 10 years and throughout her career swam for both the Mission
Viejo Nadadores and Irvine NOVA Aquatics. In high-school, she participated in both Swim Team and Water-polo.
Meghan is now studying Journalism at Orange Coast College and aspires to someday write for a fashion magazine.
Meghan enjoys teaching at Waterworks because of the fun work environment and for the opportunity to help children
achieve their goals.

Westminster
Vincent is studying Biochemistry at Orange Coast College and plans to pursue a career in medicine. He has volunteered
as a teacher's aide for both elementary and middle school aged special needs students and has tutored in all subjects.
In high-school, Vincent was a member of the Water Polo, Swim Team, and Student Government. In between going to class,
teaching and studying, he enjoys bodysurfing and exploring new places. Vincent is proud to be part of such a fun environment
and knows there's a great swimmer in everyone!

Tina has an extensive swimming background and competed as a Synchronized Swimmer at both the
national and international levels. She is currently studying at Saddleback College and hopes
to pursue a professional career working with children. Tina loves working with kids because
of the sense of accomplishment they feel upon learning a new skill. In her spare time, Tina
volunteers at her Church, enjoys hiking, reading and going to the beach.

Daniel, a Health Studies student at Irvine Valley College, has been teaching children to
swim for over 5 years and is excited to be leading both age groups of our swim team. Daniel
has participated in competitive aquatics from the time that he was in middle school through
college. As junior lifeguard, he developed a love for the ocean and enjoys sharing his passion
for swimming and athletics with children. Daniel is an accomplished EMT and has been through
extensive ocean lifeguard training. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, swimming and helping others.

Monica is double majoring in Journalism and Theater at Santa Ana College where she is both a
staff writer and photographer for their award-winning paper the El Don. She began swimming
competitively with ORCA at the age of 11 and was also a member of her high-school's swim team. Monica
has always enjoyed working with young children and has over 10 years of babysitting experience. In her
free time, Monica loves to cook, bake, swim and write.

Tammy is studying Marine Biology and Fashion Merchandising at Orange Coast College and has been involved in competitive aquatics from the time that she was very young. She found her passion for teaching upon volunteering as an assistant in a special needs swim program during high school. Tammy has also been a junior lifeguard instructor where she taught ocean safety and open water swimming techniques. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach, reading, and visiting with friends. Tammy is proud to share such an important life skill with her students and give them the confidence they need to be safe and happy.
